The Walking Dead: Every Season 7 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

6. The Well

The Walking Dead Ezekiel Shiva
Gene Page/AMC

The Well had the tough job of introducing the eccentric Kingdom community and making it feel as one with the rest of the series' gritty appeal. And, honestly, it does a pretty great job.

For one thing, the episode finally gives Morgan something to do away from Alexandria, and finds solid footing with the wonderfully theatrical, scene-stealing performance of Khary Payton as the zookeeper-turned-king Ezekiel, who emerges from the episode a quietly tragic, exciting character with potential to spare.

There are some issues, including the CGI pet tiger Shiva - which is more cartoonish than anything - Carol's tiresome "I'm so weak and lovely" routine, and its slight overload of new characters. But under these flaws, there's a lot to love, even if the rest of the season doesn't quite live up to its promises.
