The Walking Dead Season 11 Review - 5 Ups & 3 Downs From "Lockdown"
3. Up - Road Chase
Throughout all eleven seasons, there have been some great car chases as the heroes and villains play cat and mouse before one of them meets a grizzly end or stuck in the mud. Probably among one of the best ever, is from this episode as Daryl and Negan set up a plan to stop Lance's soldiers.
As part of the high-octane opening, Negan leads a couple of the Commonwealth soldiers away from Lance. Avoiding gunfire and the rusted obstacles on the road, Negan eventually leads them into a pincer move by Daryl, who rams them with one of their own stolen vehicles.
Filmed like something straight from an action flick, the scene is much more entertaining than some could have predicted, with many zoom-out shots, aerial views, and reactionary close-ups that make for an engaging watch. Add to that, the zombies slowly stumbling their way on the sides of the road, and this may be one of the best scenes in terms of adrenaline-pumping moments seen in a post-apocalyptic television show, period.
Hopefully, the following episodes will be able to live up to the action that this car chase delivered. But that might be tough to achieve, as this sequence did a fantastic job of bringing people back to the post-apocalypse setting of The Walking Dead.
