If Morgan does develop into a major player, then the hierarchy is going to look a little crowded at the top. You've already got Daryl and Glenn in position as Rick's two lead male advisors, would three be too much of a crowd? If so, there's a solution, and either way it'll be a heartbreaking one. Who's death has been the biggest of the show so far? Shane? Lori? Hershel? They were all traumatic moments, but they'd all be eclipsed by the death of either Daryl or Glenn. Imagine the scenes if one were to die in the coming season? It's perfectly feasible for either to depart, despite the fact that they're wildly popular. They both serve important roles in the show, but again, if Morgan turns out to be a true hero, he's a ready-made replacement to signal a new era for the show.
