The Walking Dead Season 7: 10 Fatal Mistakes It Must Avoid
6. Don't Pander To Hype Campaigns
Daryl Dixon is an awesomely cool character, the writers have known they were onto a winner since the first season when their TV original creation proved to be an enormous hit with the fans. He has grown to the top of the tree, and rightly so.
But at the same time, moments like his fake-out death feel like they were designed to simply stir up the hype-wagons. The same goes for 'Richonne'. It happened out of absolutely nowhere, and hasn't really had much effect other than to seemingly sideline Michonne. It's hard not to feel like it was engineered purely to pander to the shippers.
Of course the entire aim of the show is to please the millions who have transformed it into a global success, but the show needs to operate on its own terms alongside the source material rather than pick up the latest trend among its fanbase and run with it.
