The Walking Dead Season 7: 3 Ups & 6 Downs From 'Swear'

If there's one area where The Walking Dead is consistently strong, it's in the visuals - and in particular the look of the walkers. With a team led by Greg Nicotero, the series manages to find new and inventive ways of showcasing or killing its dead, and even as Season 7 has lagged there've been some impressive moments (that walker getting its face sliced off is a standout).

It's something that continues here, as we get to meet some sand zombies. They're not dramatically different to anything we've seen before, but it's a nice little twist. Buried by sand for who knows how long, they rise up out of the heap, and the sand gives them an added layer of creepiness. Bonus points too for the one who appears to vomit some up.

It may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but in a plodding episode, having some cool new walkers who stand out help things from getting too stale.
