The Walking Dead Season 8: 10 Big Questions We Need Answers To

3. Will Morgan Go Rogue?

Season seven closed out with Morgan in a fragile mental state.

The inner peace that he had found with Eastman - the all life is precious philosophy that he swore by through the conflict against the Wolves and initially The Saviours - abandoned him after he watched his stick-wielding pupil Benjamin die at the hands of Negan’s men.

The Morgan of Bury Me Here (episode 14), when he strangled Kingdom ally Richard after learning of his hand in Benjamin’s demise, was reminiscent of the one who sunk into depression and instability in season three, when his life motto was very different - to CLEAR.

He sharpened his wooden staff into a deadly spear and swore to kill every Saviour one by one, all on his own. Although he was calmed by a combination of Carol and Ezekiel, and persuaded to fight alongside his friends in the season finale, his volatility and desire for revenge could prove to be a liability to Rick’s militia if Morgan does go rogue this season.
