The Walking Dead Season 8: 7 Ways To Win Back The Fans

4. Cull The Non-Essentials

This goes hand in hand with the last entry.

With new communities added throughout seasons six and seven, the ensemble cast is now so large that accommodating it jeopardises the screen time given to the best characters.

Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Maggie, Carol, Morgan, and Carl, combined with some Jesus and Ezekiel to keep The Hilltop and The Kingdom relevant, with a bit of Negan sprinkled on the side; that is the major character recipe needed to make TWD unmissable TV again.

To give them enough time in which to influence the show, the supporting cast needs to be culled early in Season 8. With the assurance of Saviors versus Survivors warfare, that is easily achieved, and the likes of Tara, Rosita, Aaron, and Father Gabriel are all dispensable.

Just as important is to limit the amount of new characters. Fans have been introduced to plenty fresh faces in recent seasons, that the show is crowded enough as it is already.
