The Walking Dead Season 8: 8 Things You Might've Missed In Episode 1

4. A Tribute To Shane

Rick may have thought for a second that he had seen a ghost when Negan echoed Shane’s frequently used catchphrase "let me ask you something, Rick”, from The Sanctuary balcony.

This was how Rick’s one-time best friend, formidable and courageous but not the most eloquent, started many of his sentences in season two when the pair shared different ideologies on how to survive, a time at which The Walking Dead was at its most gripping.

The Jon Bernthal-played character was absolutely crucial to the success of the show’s early seasons, and this was a nice tribute to both Shane and Bernthal from the scriptwriters.
