The Walking Dead Season 8: 9 Things We Learned From SDCC 2017
6. Ezekiel Is Right In The Thick Of The War
For the majority of Season 7, King Ezekiel refused to be drawn into any conflict with the Saviours. The ruler of the Kingdom was determined to keep his people safe, and to him that meant keeping the peace.
That changed at the end of the year, as he was forced to join the battle against Negan and his men. Now, thanks to the trailer, we know that Ezekiel won't be backing off any, but is embroiled right in the thick of the action: we see him drawing his sword and leading men into battle, and the shot above.
Ezekiel's an interesting character, but needs a bigger role compared to what was given in Season 7, and it looks like we're getting that now. As one of the main leaders it's fitting he should be at the forefront of the war, which he definitely is here, and it's also great to see Jerry still by his side and bringing moments of levity to the series.
