The West Wing Cast: Where Are They Now?

15. Mary-Louise Parker - Amy Gardner

The West Wing
NBC

Yet another Josh love interest (he certainly had more than his fair share!), Amy Gardner’s relationship with the West Wing's seemingly most eligible bachelor actually progressed from a ‘will they, won’t they’ situation into an actual relationship and though it quickly fizzled out, she continued to make appearances through to the show’s conclusion, serving as Chief of Staff to the First Lady before moving onto a directorial role in the Santos administration.

Having gotten her start in the theatre, actress Mary-Louise Parker is a four-time Tony nominee for Best Actress, winning in 2001 for Proof. She added an Emmy and a Golden Globe to her collection for Angels In America in 2004, between her West Wing appearances, before she secured the lead role on Showtime’s Weeds in 2005.

A dark comedy about a widow selling illicit marijuana, Weeds earned Parker three additional Emmy nominations and paved the way for her to appear in supporting roles in a handful of successful films, including Red and the ridiculously long titled Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.

Though she hasn’t been that prolific in recent years, Parker has been confirmed to return to the world of Weeds 8 years after its conclusion in spin-off series Weeds 4.20, though information about a potential release date has ironically gone up in smoke.
