The Wire Cast: Where Are They Now?
3. Sonja Sohn
Another of The Wire’s more moral figures, Kima Greggs was a talented detective with a McNulty-esque penchant for self destruction, but an ability to keep herself toeing the invisible line. Sonja Sohn was given a bit of a thankless task with an arguably underdeveloped character, but gave Greggs a nobility that was easy to root for.
Following The Wire, Sohn trod the same boards as many of her former colleagues, doing the network drama circuit - Law & Order, The Good Wife, Brothers & Sisters. She was a regular for the first two seasons of Body of Proof, in familiar territory as homicide detective Samantha Baker.
More interesting is her work outside of acting - for several years following The Wire she focussed on social work, founding reWIRED for Change, an organisation set up to rehabilitate youngsters in Baltimore at risk of entering the criminal world, an endeavour her most notable character would no doubt support.
Sohn can currently be seen on Amazon’s remake of UK drama Utopia, where she once again plays a law enforcement operative.
