It's not just The Lone Gunmen who will be back in The X-Files revival. Walter Skinner. Margaret Scully. Deep Throat. The Smoking Man. Even Lo-Fat (one of the gamers from the season seven episode F.P.S.) have been rumoured to turn up. Nostalgia is generally instantly rewarding these days - just ask the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Of course, the production still has to be good, but from what has been seen of the new X-Files episodes thus far, that doesn't look to be an issue. The big question out of all of these is how the return of the Smoking Man (or Cancer Man if you prefer) will be handled. He has figured heavily in the promotion of the new season, with his imposing silhouette featuring in the poster for the revival. Will he be seen in flashbacks? Was he cloned? Did he somehow survive being shot in the face by a missile?
