9. Cracking The Whip
Were you to awaken to find yourself in Hades, or at the gates of Hell, or in some other horrible destination in whatever afterlife is out there, would you be at all surprised to find the Smoking Man commanding a galley of slaves, ready to dole out lashes to any who disobeys? Well, apparently Fox Mulder wouldn't, because that's exactly what his subconscious dreamed up while on a mushroom trip of epic proportions in Babylon. Actually, whether this particular vision was entirely Mulder's, or a mixture of Mulder's subconscious, and the mind of the terrorist suspect with whom he was trying to communicate, is open to debate. Either way, it was a very WTF moment in an episode full of them.
