The X-Files: 21 WTF Moments From The Season's Final Two Episodes

8. A Spin-Off Nobody Wants To See

The idea of Special Agents Miller and Einstein (Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose) taking over as the main characters of The X-Files is honestly as about as appealing as Shia LeBeouf's Mutt taking over for Indiana Jones. In short, no thank you. There's the door, see yourself out. If you're actually considering this - WTF?!? Miller and Einstein were rumoured to have been shoe-horned into the revival as a sort of backdoor pilot attempt, but turned out to be bland, pretty but forgettable clones of Mulder and Scully. For all the grief John Doggett (Robert Patrick) took in seasons eight and nine, at least he was something different, something new. Einstein and Miller are pretty much Mulder and Scully Jr., complete with the female being a skeptical woman of science, and a redhead, and the male being a true believer in the paranormal, capable of jumping to wild conclusions with minimal evidence. A next generation version of The X-Files should happen - but not like this.
