Titans Season 2: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Deathstroke’
6. Rachel's Demons
Last season's focus on the dark and twisted origins of Rachel Roth's powers made for a rather grim debut offering for Titans, which is why it's nice to see the show has veered away from that throughout the second season. However, the writers haven't fully shied away from it either - which is also great, because Rachel's one of the most compelling characters, and it just wouldn't be right to demote her.
After weeks of teases, this week's installment saw the troubled teenager finally open up to Kory about her fears - a moment which temporarily put her mind at rest. Unfortunately, the validity of those fears would manifest when her darkness took over and decimated Rose to within an inch of her life.
From the new groovy purple mist she produces, to the intense red eyes, it's exciting everytime that Raven's demon within rears its head, and it's nice that the writers aren't overdoing it this time around. That way, we're more invested in the mystery of her recent behaviour without ever feeling like things are too angsty and dramatic. And, more than anything, it's allowing Teagan Croft to absolutely thrive in her role.
