Titans Season 2: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Deathstroke’

5. High Production Values

As much as viewers crave high-stakes movie-like sequences from superhero TV shows, the budget restrictions can often leave those scenes with some questionable and unfinished-looking CGI - something that can be quite distracting. Thus, it's easy to see why many shows steer clear of rooftop showdowns... even if their leading superhero should thrive on them.

That said, Titans made no apologies for its nail-biting final act in which Jason Todd fell from the top floor of a skyscraper and, aside from the CGI-glass window shattering, it was very convincing. In fact, from Dick and Kory's showdown with Deathstroke inside the building to Jason's fall, the whole thing looked eerily reminiscent of The Dark Knight's finale battle between Batman and The Joker... and that's really something.

In the past, Titans has struggled in its attempts to break free of stereotypical TV conventions, but 'Deathstroke's final act was worthy of the big screen - and that's just one example of how much the show has improved.
