Top 5 Everymen Characters On TV

2. Steve Karp - Undeclared

Steven

Look at this picture and tell me you don't identify with this man. After all, who wouldn't want to sleep on a Jason Segel pillow? Ah Steven... the ever-perplexed, barely-adult college student who has reached a stage in his life where he has become responsible. Responsible for what you say? Well the things we all become responsible for as we mature, namely his own life and his parents. When he is not dodging angry, dirty, drug-dealing Jason Segel (seriously look at any picture from this show and tell me you're not afraid) for sleeping with his girlfriend or having horribly awkward dates with said girl, he's working crappy jobs in order to maintain his drink-fueled existence while watching his friends descend into credit card debt and the depths of nihilism. So, university then. So why is Steven such a good everyman? Well, I can only speak for myself, but I found Baruchel's nonplussed attitude and inability to cope with the momentous things he was being landed with mirrored my own ineptitude while at university. I didn't apply for a fraternity because I went to university in the UK, but the completely alien people and the ways in which you change to deal with them are what I find so identifiable in Steven. Though I have never touched a pickle and never will. Basically go watch Undeclared if you don't know what I'm talking about here.
