It has been quite the time for Star Trek and theme parks. Only last week, we found out that Star Trek: Prodigy was getting its own attractionWild Galaxy — at Land of Legends in Antalya, Türkiye. Now, open those doors to Hangar Bay 12! The bridge of the Enterprise-D, as recreated for Star Trek: Picard's third and final season, is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood as part of the park's all-new 'Fan Fest Nights'.

On select evenings between 25 April and 18 May 2025, fans will be able to go on "an immersive and thrilling adventure aboard the U.S.S Enterprise-D where they will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step onto the bridge," StarTrek.com reported. Joining the line-up alongside the legendary set at Universal Studios will be experiences from Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

In life, the original Enterprise-D bridge set was torn down after it had been all but reduced to scraps on Veridian III in Star Trek: Generations. What Geordi then did on screen almost single handedly over the course of 20 years, production designer Dave Blass and art director Liz Kloczkowski managed in three months with a team of about 50 people, according to Variety.

In essence, the bridge had to be rebuilt from the ground up for Picard, all with the most painstaking attention to detail. As Blass told Variety, the team poured over "every photo ever taken and every screencap," even returning to the blueprints. Next Generation design duo Mike Okuda and Denise Okuda were brought on board as consultants, revisiting the old with a touch of the new in the real-time animation technologies added to the LCARS displays.

As Kloczkowski told our own Seán Ferrick in October 2023, they had "full control" over the graphics this time, including the power-up sequence. A measure of their success, fans around the world shared their emotional reactions as screens and consoles came back alive one by one in Vōx.

Thankfully, there's more of a sense of posterity this time round. As Blass told ScreenRant in September 2023, the set was "stored in Archives". On the news that the bridge would be making an appearance at Universal Studios, Blass also tweeted, "For all the folks that asked if it has been saved. Yep!"

This is a piece of contemporary cultural history, after all, so tread the carpet lightly if you are lucky enough to go on that tour next year! If you can't quite make it to Hollywood, you can always take a look around the Enterprise-D bridge rebuild as it was at Santa Clarita Studios via Google Maps.

In universe, the Enterprise-D is housed at the Fleet Museum over Athan Prime. Perhaps the next stop for the bridge set in the real world should also be a museum for all to see. Fans are still crying out for Blass and his team’s extraordinary craftsmanship to feature in Star Trek once again, whether that be a new project entirely… or Star Trek: Legacy.

Universal Studios Fan Fest Nights will take place on 25-27 April; 2-4, 9-11, and 16-18 May 2025.
