Umbrella Academy: 10 Obscure Comic Books Netflix Should Adapt Next

In a post-Adventure Time and Regular Show world, mainstream audiences are now, more than ever, open to the idea of cutesy animated shows truly running wild with high fantasy, bizarre science-fiction elements, and casts of quirky and unpredictable characters. It is from these foundations that truly profound shows can be built, and in the case of Noelle Stevenson's Nimona, 'profound' barely does this graphic novel justice.

Stevenson, the creator of the award-winning Lumberjanes and Netflix's own She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power, took Nimona as an opportunity to tell a subtle and nuanced story about prejudice, revenge, and anti-heroism in a fantasy world that feels deliciously modern.

A short and sweet graphic novel that is more than deserving of the time of any fantasy fan, Nimona is an opportunity to create a show that would stand shoulder-to-shoulder alongside the best of Netflix's animated catalogue.

It isn't particularly symbolic, or crass, nor pandering, but it is a deceptively cute and sharply written comic book that has something very interesting to say.
