Upcoming X-Men TV Shows: 8 Things You Need To Know

3. … And Bryan Singer Will Direct The Pilot

Legion showrunner Noah Hawley opted to direct his own pilot episode, but Matt Nix has taken a different approach with his still-not-named action adventure pilot: he got Bryan Singer, the godfather of modern superhero movies, to sign up for the directorial gig.

They'd struggle to find anyone more qualified: Bryan Singer directed X-Men, X-2: X-Men United, X-Men: Days Of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse, and produced the high profile TV shows House, Munsters, Battle Creek and Mockingbird Lane. He knows how to shoot X-action and can work on a TV budget, so this is practically the perfect job for Singer.

Since he's also working on a constant stream of feature projects, it's doubtful that Singer would direct the full series. But in helming the pilot he should be able to set a framework for future directors to follow. That's if Fox and Marvel decide they like the pilot episode and want to order a full series, which isn't a given just yet.
