The Walking Dead: 10 Questions And Answers To Current Mysteries

6. Who Was Feeding The Rats?

One of the biggest questions to come out of season four comes from a quick opening scene at the early part of the season when it's shown that someone is feeding the walkers along the perimeter fence of the prison. The feeding quickly results in a massive pileup of zombies pushing over the fences and placing the survivors at risk of a possible overflow. It's easily deduced that the one feeding the walkers along the fence was little Lizzie, a child that looks up to Carol. Initially it was believed that the rat feeding could expand further to that of a possible spy of the Governor within the group or even the Governor himself. With the invasion and demise of the Governor now a thing of the past and this possibility never touched on, it has to be assumed that the spy theory goes right out the window. Audiences have witnessed Lizzie slide into the role of a sociopath as a result of growing up during the zombie apocalypse. We've seen her kill helpless baby bunny rabbits in the woods and nearly smother poor Judith to quiet her crying before Carol's timely return. Seeing where Lizzie is going it's pretty obvious that she has to be the one who was feeding the walkers as she has a strange attraction to them and sees them as pets rather than the real threat that they are. Also, let's also not forget about the oddly dissected rabbit that was found inside of the prison and a connection is starting to come together.
