WandaVision: 10 Insane Fan Theories You Need To Know
6. Each Sitcom Style Represents A Different Part Of Wanda's Past
There will doubtless be many things that set WandaVision apart from the rest of the MCU, but possibly the most obvious difference is the sitcom style setting. It's something that the franchise has never toyed with before, for obvious reasons, but will seemingly be utilised fully in its first Disney+ show.
Throughout the first official trailer, we see that WandaVision won't just be portrayed in a single sitcom style, but in several different styles from different eras. This will surely have some importance to the story, and there will be a deeper meaning between each different setting. Otherwise why not keep it the same throughout?
One theory suggests that each of the four styles we have seen so far will represent a different aspect of Wanda's tragic past. Despite trying to shut everything out and creating a new reality, she will still be forced to face her demons.
The 1960s era will represent the death of her parents, and the seventies the death of her twin, Pietro. The eighties will see Wanda confront her own villainous turn as an ally of Ultron, and finally, the nineties will see her have to face up to the death of Vision. This will likely be the end of her fantasy of a care free family life, bringing her back to the real world, deeply hurt and all guns blazing.
