WandaVision Finale - 8 MASSIVE Easter Eggs, References And Secrets, Explained
1. Tommy And Billy... Reincarnated?!
The conclusion to WandaVision was heartbreaking - there's not really any other way to go about it.
Wanda had to say goodbye to Vision yet again, but also the two children she'd created. It's an act that signifies her own emotional resilience and growth, but the series also leaves the door open for the group to - as Wanda and Vision both conclude - "say hello again".
White Vision's fate is left unresolved, and the finale's post-credits scene shows Wanda reading from the Darkhold, where she hears the voices of Tommy and Billy.
Could all three characters return eventually? It's not something that should be ruled out, and it's clearly something Wanda is pursuing. Tommy and Billy had a big part to play in the Young Avengers in Marvel's comics, and it stands to reason that, as Marvel Studios prepares to assemble their own version of the team for the big and small screens, the duo could return as Speed and Wiccan.
It's still early days of course, but Tommy and Billy were reincarnated in the comics and it's clear Wanda is taking her first steps in understanding the full potential of her own powers. Could that entail their resurrection? It's possible, and with the Multiverse involved in the upcoming Doctor Strange film, it could even be the case their true fates will be resolved in that film.
Also - just for a final, final comment - I imagine some viewers will treat these potential returns as somehow contradicting WandaVision's commentary on knowing when to let go and move on, but I disagree. We can acknowledge that Wanda and Vision's story needs to have a sense of finality to it - that the MCU can't simply repeat the endless cycle of death and resurrection seen in the comics - but also that a potential return wouldn't invalidate the series' nuanced meditation on grief and loss.
It's still comic books. It's still superheroes. And clearly there are forces at play that - for the time being - remain far beyond our comprehension.
