Poor Ashley. He seems like a good enough guy, but then in episode 9 he takes a trip into the park, and is quickly taken by the Ghost Nation hosts. Their appearance, and fact they're abducting a human (one who should be able to control them, no less), makes this pretty weird anyway.

More WTF, though, is the fact that it's then totally ignored.

Ashely is played by the third and oft-overlooked Hemsworth brother (Luke), so it's probably some meta-joke that his disappearance is totally forgotten about.
