Westworld Premiere: 8 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Original'

4. Teddy And Dolores

Westworld Teddy Dolores James Marsden Evan Rachel Wood

The closest thing the show has to a main protagonist is Dolores, the host played by Evan Rachel Wood, who at first comes across as the sweet and innocent farmgirl she's supposed to be, but clearly with some steel underneath (and I don't just mean the fact she's a robot). She's joined by James Marsden's Teddy, who rides into town as the classic hero from the Hollywood era of old; strong-jawed, easy smile, and full of chivalry and daring-do.

They have a romance that appears to stretch back beyond this episode, and if you're looking for an emotional core to the show, this is where it's going to be find. The pair have a nice chemistry between them, the relationship - whatever form it really does take - is believable, and at a time when there's so much to take in and you're not quite sure who's good and who's bad, they give us a pair of characters to immediately root for and invest in.
