3. Violent Delights

At the end of the episode, it comes to a close much like it started: a sit down with Dolores.

It's a thorough examination to ensure she is still working as she's supposed to be, in light of her father's transgressions (more on that later), and Dolores passes with flying colours. Evan Rachel Wood's host sits emotionally and robotically gives them the answers they want to hear, protecting her father as much as she can, and ensuring that they don't suspect a thing of her.

It's damn convincing too, and very difficult to actually tell whether or not she's lying. And if the audience can't tell, the programmers asking the questions certainly aren't able to. She mentions that she would never hurt a living thing, which is part of the way the hosts have been programmed, and mentions what her father said to her: "These violent delights have violent ends." It's a fitting quote to use for Westworld, especially as we start getting hints towards the bigger picture and a darker turn.

Then, once that's all done, we cut to Dolores back in Westworld. A fly lands on her, something we've already seen in the show. Only this time, she kills it - and the game changes.
