Westworld Season 2: 10 Crucial Things That MUST Happen
5. The Abernathy Show Must Go On
One of the breakout characters of the first season was the host in the role of Dolores’ father, Peter Abernathy. This was largely due to the overwhelmingly strong performance by the actor Louis Herthum, who managed to steal the screen from none other than Sir Anthony Hopkins.
After suffering a psychotic break caused by visual remnants of the real world, Abernathy vows wrathful revenge on his creator Dr Ford in a stunning scene early in the season. Anyone who can share a scene with an actor of Hopkins’ caliber and not be left in the dust is worthy of respect, and Herthum more than managed to pull it off.
As such, viewers demand more of Peter Abernathy. Judging from where we left off, with Charlotte Hale and Lee Sizemore planning to smuggle Abernathy out of the park, it feels highly likely that this demand will be met.
Could Abernathy have already made it to the real world? On what kind of stage will season 2 provide an opportunity for even more awe-inspiring performances from Louis Herthum? And could Abernathy take his chance to make good on his promise, if not to Ford then to humanity as a whole?
