Westworld Season 2: 10 Crucial Things That MUST Happen
4. Dolores Must Be Explored
Functioning as perhaps the closest thing to a main character and protagonist throughout the first season, the original host Dolores Abernathy went on quite a journey across ten episodes.
Shifting frequently from the role of a sweet and innocent farm-girl to a fully conscious and aware host, Dolores was last seen leisurely shooting Dr Ford through the back of the skull.
Now fully unleashed, Dolores is one of the show’s most compelling and intriguing characters. Ever since her status as the oldest host in Westworld was revealed, the details of her origin have been crying out to be filled.
If she was the first host to be programmed, was she modelled on a real-world counterpart? If so, for what reason, and what connection does she have to the creators of Host Dolores? Now that the centre of the maze has been reached, it’s time to start opening some previously locked doors in Westworld’s rich backstory.
Fortunately, season two comes with the subtitle “The Door”, so we should expect more rooms in this tale to gradually be made available. The inner-workings of Dolores, her role in the coming revolution, and the origins of her existence need to be illuminated as part of that.
