Westworld Season 2 Premiere: 7 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Journey Into Night'
Downs...
3. It's Too Long
While most episodes this season will be running at an hour in length, this one comes in at 70 minutes, It might not sound like that big a difference, but in TV terms it can cause a lot of drag, especially when an hour itself is already a tad bloated.
Although this episode does need to check in on a number of characters, the pacing feels a little off at times - especially when it's not focused on one of Maeve, Dolores, or Old William - and some of the slower, more overly ponderous scenes feel like they're courtesy of Westworld's worst tendencies in trying to be prestigious and clever, rather than simply telling a good story.
