What If? Marvel Zombies - 10 Things You Need To Know

4. The Series Just Keeps Coming Back

What If Marvel Zombies
Marvel Comics

Although Marvel Zombies started off as a limited series, it was too successful not to have sequels. Even after it spawned four official follow-ups, that still wasn't enough, inspiring Marvel to conjure all sorts of spin-offs.

Over the years, the undead superheroes have squared off against anything you could imagine including aliens, vampires, robots, cowboys, Camelot knights, apes, and ducks. In Zombies Christmas Carol, the flesh-eaters had to battle Ebenezer Scrooge in a retelling of Charles Dickens' most famous story. In Marvel Zombies 5 #5, the infected made it to our world and managed to eat some of the Marvel writers!

In Black Panther #27, the Marvel Zombies encountered the traditional superheroes from Earth-616 for the first time. In Marvel Zombies: The Return, the infected travelled through time, popping up in the most iconic storylines including the Sinister Six's debut and Iron Man's Demon in a Bottle story arc, putting an interesting (and grisly) spin on these famous comics.

The last Marvel Zombies comic was published in 2019 but it's sure to return soon since, like the zombies themselves, the comics refuse to die.
