Why Supergirl Just Got Cancelled

6. It's Ending On Its Own Terms

Before getting into the specifics of Supergirl's conclusion, it's important to stress one thing: The show has not technically been cancelled - it's just ending.

The CW already renewed it for a sixth season back in January which is set to begin filming really soon. We didn't know back then that it would be its final offering, but given that production hasn't started yet, you can rest assured that making this decision now will give the cast and crew the chance to end the show on their own terms.

All good things must come to an end - and in spite of her incredible super powers, the Girl of Steel isn't immune to that. However, we can take solace in the fact that she hasn't been taken from us by some unjust cancellation. Thus, she will return for one last adventure, consisting of 20 episodes.

Prepare yourselves to go up, up and away one more time.
