Here's a thought these people have already been through two rounds of auditions, endured boot camp and then gone through the ordeal of having to lie to the cameras and pretend that Louis Walsh actually lives in St. Tropez. Bearing this in mind, why not let them decide for themselves what song they think will best suit singing? Rather than making an 18-year-old guy who's come to sing guitar ballads perform a disco number, or instead of making teenagers sing 80s classics they've never even heard of, why don't they decide for themselves what songs to sing? That way the acts are happy in because they feel a bit more in control of their own destinies, and the audience are happy because they don't have to listen to any trumpet solos when they're trying to have an enjoyable Saturday night in. I know it's a revolutionary, game-changing thought, but surely someone had to say it, right? ...Right?
