8 Things You Need To Know About The Women Of Game Of Thrones Season 6

1. Daenerys Is Captured, But For How Long?

Despite the fact that Season 5 saw her finally getting to fly on the back of one of her dragons, things didn't go all that well for Daenerys Targaryen. She struggled to hold onto power in Meereen, with the constant attacks of insurgency group Sons of the Harpy, and then when she left the city, she was quickly surrounded by a khalasar.

It's the latter where we'll be picking up Dany's storyline, and it doesn't look any better for the Mother of Dragons. The images and the trailer have shown her being taken captive by the khalasar, and led to the Dothraki city Vaes Dothrak. She'll end up in front of a new Khal, but quite what will happen to her after then is something of a mystery, with three likely options: she'll win them round to her cause, Drogon will arrive to aid her cause, or she'll be rescued by Jorah and Daario, who we know are on her trail.

After that, she'll no doubt have to return to Meereen, where her other two dragons are kept and Tyrion is ruling in her absence. All Emilia Clarke has had to say on Season 6 is that filming almost killed them, and "it's epic...huge...insane...[and] silly."

Sounds like standard Thrones, then.

For Dany specifically, we don't know exactly where she's headed, but the hope is that this is the year she'll finally head to Westeros. Lol...
