3. Joe Hallucinates More Than We Think
We know that Joe is an unreliable narrator. At times, he has visions of Candace who says things that imply that Joe is guilty of something and is haunted by his past.
But what if Joe’s visions are more frequent than that and less obvious? This fan theory is explained using Peach’s head injury as an example.
When Joe attacked Peach with a rock in the park, her head injury seemed really bad. But when he sees her after the incident, she looks completely fine. Peach left the hospital pretty quickly with just a concussion.
The fact that Peach appears unscathed could be a result of Joe hallucinating and seeing what he wants to see. After all, Joe has stated on multiple occasions that he thinks Peach is attention seeking, which could be altering his perception of reality.
