UFC Fight Night 147 Predictions

6. Jack Marshman Vs. John Phillips

The main card opener promises to be an all-action fight between two of Wales' finest fighters.

Former Cage Warriors middleweight champion Jack Marshman has a penchant for stand-up wars, odd considering he's finished more than half of his career victories via strikes. Luckily for us, his opponent and fellow Welshman John Phillips will be more than happy to trade blows with him inside the Octagon.

Although he's known as "The Welsh Wrecking Machine" nowadays, Phillips' nickname used to be 'The White Mike Tyson' and for very good reason. He has exceptionally quick hands to match his devastating power, but he's also improved on his ground game as we've seen with some of his more recent submission victories.

However, considering both men are far more interested in keeping things standing, it's unlikely that we'll see much grappling action. Although he's lost his first couple of fights in UFC, Philips has shown improvement under the tutelage of John Kavanagh out of SBG Ireland and Marshman is the type of opponent who will allow him to show what he's truly capable of as a fighter.
