UFC Fight Night 155 Main Card Preview And Predictions

4. Karl Roberson (7-2) Vs. Wellington Turman (15-2)

Given that there are some pretty big names on the prelims, it's a bit surprising that this fight wound up on the main card. The contest pits Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series alum Karl Roberson against UFC newcomer Wellington Turman.

Since his victory over Ryann Span on the Contender Series, 28-year-old middleweight kickboxer Karl Roberson has gone 2-2 in the UFC. In his last fight, Roberson moved up to light heavyweight, where he was soundly defeated by former title challenger Glover Teixeira. He's an athletic guy with excellent kickboxing, but his ground game still appears to be a work in progress.

He'll be taking on the debuting 22-year-old UFC newcomer Wellington Turman. Based on the tape that's available, he appears to be a sort of jack of all trade, master of none kind of fighter — though he's still very young and has plenty of time to continue to develop. He does have an impressive record (15-2) but hasn't face the stiffest of competition.

Truman's wrestling probably isn't strong enough to get Roberson to the mat and a stand-up fight should heavily favor the former kickboxer. This fight feels like it was booked for Roberson to get an impressive knockout and serve as an advertisement for The Contender Series, which is probably what will happen.

The pick: Roberson via 1st round KO.
