UFC Fight Night 155 Main Card Preview And Predictions

3. Josh Emmett (14-2) Vs. Mirsad Bektic (13-1)

In what looks to be of the more interesting matches on paper, hometown hero Jose Emmett will take on the always tough Mirsad Bektic in a featherweight showdown.

34-year-old Josh Emmett is a member of Urijah Faber's Team Alpha Male who is coming off of an impressive KO victory over Michael Johnson. He is a former college wrestler who hits like a Mack truck. In his last three fights, in which he went 2-1, Emmett has either knocked his opponent out or been knocked out himself so he certainly hasn't been boring.

Mirsad Bektic has looked outstanding since joining the UFC roster and has gone 6-1 since signing with the promotion. His only loss came at the hands of Darren Elkins via KO, in a fight, Bektic was dominating over the course of the first two rounds. The 28-year-old represents the new generation of mixed martial artist and is very good at every aspect of the game.

Both men are excellent wrestlers who hit hard. Emmett will have the hometown Sacramento crowd behind him and is teammates with Darren Elkins, the only man to beat Bektic — which is certainly noteworthy. Bektic looks to be the better technical striker. Moreover, at 28, Bektic is a bit younger than his opponent and in his physical prime.

This is a tough call. All things being relatively equal, it's best to go with the fighter who is in his prime and has the superior technical striking.

The pick: Bektic via decision.
