Straining to find a new adversary for The Undertaker, Smackdown writer Michael Hayes came up with the risky proposition to bring in developmental talent Hade Vansen and position him in a lengthy feud with The Dead Man.

They aired a mysterious vignette on an episode of Smackdown, featuring the unnamed character talking about punishing The Undertaker with "righteousness and purity" and threatening to take his immortal power and realize "his prophecy".

Vansen was going to have some followers, as well, in Kevin Thorn and masked wrestler Black Pain.

Basically, Vansen's character was going to be a mix of Bray Wyatt's dark, cult figure and Mordecai's religious extremist (which would later be taken up by Thorn).

Imagine that going against The Undertaker, complete with his very own pseudo-Ministry of Darkness.

But it seems Hayes jumped the gun in developing the storyline, though, and when Vince McMahon examined the concept a bit more closely, he decided Hayes was out of his mind and promptly ditched the angle - and Vansen's character- entirely.
