10 AEW Dark Matches You Must See

2. Lee Johnson Vs Ben Carter (September 22nd 2020)

Kenny Omega Joey Janela
WWE

The best of three scintillating displays from prodigious British talent Ben Carter in All Elite Wrestling, a Dark battle with Lee Johnson was far more competitive than the YouTube show's typical efforts, but sought to get over the jaw-dropping speed and aerial ability of one of the industry's hottest free agents.

There's that word. "Free" seemed to reasonably assess how both Carter and Johnson wrestled in this excellent and expressive bout. "Free" coverers the workers market from whence they both came. And "free" was, as it turns out, what Carter worked for.

Told by an AEW official that it was illegal to pay him for work due to his United States visa status, Carter seemed happy to gain the opportunity and exposure, especially when a deal came calling.

Said deal wasn't from Tony Khan. Carter shone to such an extent that his talents commanded the attention of WWE, who promptly signed him to the NXT UK brand where he'll be seen by their smallest audience if and when he ever gets booked. All the more reason to enjoy matches like this, and Carter's Late Night Dynamite banger with Scorpio Sky on September 22nd.
