10 AEW Nightmares That Could Come True In 2023

9. They Introduce Even More Titles

Currently, AEW promotes six in-house male championships and two female belts. Then, programming somehow finds room for a further six ROH titles that split between Dynamite, Rampage, AEW pay-per-view and the occasional ROH specials. It's...a bit much, but it could get worse.

Recently, Hikaru Shida has been defending her Regina di Wave Title on TV too. That's an indy strap that All Elite definitely doesn't need, so the question needs asked: When does this madness stop?! Khan also promotes the IWGP and AAA Tag belts on his product, and the last thing he needs is a whole host of independent companies suckling at his teat too.

Again, it's overkill.

Sadly, TK has shown zero ability to exercise restraint with such matters. That's why this writer worries that the AEW's gaffer's love of every pro wrestling title ever will only worsen in 2023. Too many championships is messy and makes the product harder to follow.
