3. Team Taz Vs. Darby Allin & Sting

Christian Cage

Good.

Not Stadium Stampede good. Not Firefly Fun House good. But definitely Boneyard Match good, albeit 11 months after the original when we're all a little desensitised to the form. That was the story of the Street Fight between Team Taz, Darby Allin and Sting, presented as it was with the commentary team pretending like the very clearly pre-taped footage wasn't very clearly pre-taped.

Set in something resembling the warehouse from the 1997 Monday Night Raw credits, the teams brawled throughout a building whilst occasionally utilising a ring that was placed in the middle of dirt, dust and broken glass.

As with the go-home promo, Sting stood out the most. In incredible condition and benefitting from some canny editing, 'The Stinger' was well suited the unique environment. As was Darby Allin, if he's your thing, with much of this felt like an extended version of the type of sh*te he'd film in his own time.

That's not to say that heels were just punching bags - Allin getting swung into a window by Brian Cage and Powerhouse Hobbs was the highlight of the whole match - but this was fundamentally a revenge tale for the babyfaces, told well enough over 15 minutes. Nothing less was promoted, nothing more was delivered.
