10 AEW Revolution 2021 Impulse Reactions

4. Cody Rhodes Vs. Scorpio Sky Vs. Penta El Zero Miedo Vs. Lance Archer Vs. Max Caster Vs. Ethan Page

Ethan Page wasn't the only big surprise here, though the other wasn't particularly welcome.

This match - hilarious brass ring prop and all - wasn't really very good. Frustratingly unremarkable and low on energy despite the hard graft of all involved, it was eerily reminiscent of half the ALL OUT 2020 card after Matt Hardy's scary bump earlier in the show. Playing to a crowd that sounded too exhausted to pop for the spots, the one big angle - Cody's injured shoulder - didn't really resonate even after he'd returned.

It wasn't for the lack of trying. Penta was at his violent best, Page tried several times (at least once at his own expense) to be the standout of the match, and Scorpio Sky was an intriguing winner considering his recent heel turn and the finish itself coming at Cody's expense.

What he didn't feel like, however, was a TNT Championship winner.

Darby Allin left this pay-per-view battered and bruised from the Street Fight (more on that momentarily), but he'll probably leave Dynamite with his belt too. The gag was cute, but the brass ring wasn't really grabbed after all.
