10 Attitude Era Elements WWE Must Copy Today

1. Have Some Guts!

The Attitude Era represented the gutsiest move in Vince McMahon's lifetime as a promoter.

He was forced out of his comfort zone for the livelihood of his company. Beaten, battered and bruised during the initial years of the Monday Night War, he had to fight back. To do so, he had to leave behind the stale product he had become accustomed to and take numerous risks.

Those risks netted him the most profitable period of his entire career, the most vivid and memorable characters ever and a victory over the unlimited checkbook of Ted Turner.

They resulted in "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Hell in a Cell, The Three Faces of Foley and a band of degenerates that helped alter the course of wrestling history.

There are some that argue that the lack of competition hurts the likelihood that McMahon will ever feel motivated enough again to take such risks. They have a point, but all the CEO of WWE has to do is look in the stands to find his competition. The fans, those same paying customers who reject so many of his tired booking tropes and stale characters, are his competition.

The best way to stick it to them is not to present a bunch of nonsensical finishes at WrestleMania. It is to recognize them, to realize that they may know what they want more than he does at this point, and take the initiative to make changes.

Show some guts. Take some risks. Pull the proverbial trigger on Cesar and let him run at the top of the card. Give Kevin Owens the main event push fans are clamoring for. Best of all? Let Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Paige main event a pay-per-view. Be different.

Show the world you still have those "grapefruits" you so often spoke of.

Only then will McMahon inject his company with the attitude that helped him and his company make history back at the end of the 1990s and start of the new Millennium.
