10 Awesome Heel Vs. Heel Wrestling Matches
6. Daniel Bryan Vs. Brock Lesnar (Survivor Series 2018)
This match was everything that fans hoped Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar could be, the realisation of a dream match that many wrestling fans had long since given up on. Even when Bryan came out of retirement in early 2018, most presumed that the leader of the YES! Movement wasn't going to be doing battle against a guy whose entire offence revolves around dropping his opponent on the back of their heads. Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar was a total dream match, but there was a sense that booking it might be a little too irresponsible, even for WWE.
The match eventually took place at the 2018 Survivor Series, just a few days after Bryan had defeated AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, turning heel in the process. The heel vs. heel dynamic was a curious one for Bryan vs. Lesnar but it worked perfectly, allowing Bryan to play the chickensh*t heel to begin with before having to embrace his violent streak in the second half of the match. It was a quite magnificent professional wrestling performance.
To his credit, Brock Lesnar showed here that there was plenty more in his tank. Lesnar was in total beast mode for the first half of the match before succumbing to his only weak spot (his dong, to be blunt), allowing Bryan to kick the everloving tar out of him. There were moments where Lesnar tapping out seemed a very real possibility.
It wasn't to be as Lesnar picked up the win, but the match was everything fans hoped it could be. Incredible.
