10 Awesome Wrestlers WWE Sacrificed For The Greater Good

1. The Undertaker (WrestleMania XXX)

Streak 21-1 Wrestlemania 30 Brock
WWE

The Undertaker's legendary WrestleMania Streak had to come to an end sometime. Professional wrestling builds such things up so that they can eventually be used to give somebody else a rub, and 'Taker is the most old-school of old-school WWE wrestlers. He was never not going to put someone over at 'Mania, and the big loss finally went down at WM XXX, where Brock Lesnar became the 1 in 21-1.

'The Beast' felled 'The Deadman' in a lacklustre bout hampered by a concussed Undertaker, who left the building in an ambulance. Those shocked faces in the crowd are still being replayed in highlights packages today.

The Greater Good:

Though some took umbrage with WWE handing the rub to a part-timer, having Brock end The Streak was supposed to send him to the moon. It did. 'Taker hasn't been the same since, but Lesnar would become WWE's prime special attraction in the aftermath, elevating him to a level far beyond anyone else on the roster.

Could they have done this without what happened at WrestleMania XXX? Perhaps, but crushing The Undertaker was an effective jump-off nonetheless.
