10 Awful Wrestlers Pushed As WWE Main Eventers

6. The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman was a gimmick portrayed by the very sparsely talented Marty Wright. It was a gimmick that could have been so good, had it been portrayed by someone with better in-ring ability, but Wright wasn't very good. That said, he mingled with some of the best talent the WWE had on its rosters at the time. Debuting in 2005, he first started out squashing jobbers and local talents, but he was soon involved in a feud with JBL - a man who had been the WWE champion earlier that same year - and the feud culminated in the Boogeyman winning against JBL in less than two minutes at the January 2006 Royal Rumble. He would go on to feud with top guys like Booker T, Finlay, the Miz and John Morrison when he was the ECW champion - even getting a couple of shots at Morrison's title. In March of 2009, he was released from his contract with WWE and, frankly, he had long outstayed his welcome with the company.
