10 Beloved Inanimate Objects That Didn’t Survive Wrestling Feuds

8. The Jeritron 6000

Mitch wasn't the only object to get destroyed on a talk show.

When Chris Jericho started The Highlight Reel in 2003, the centrepiece of his set was the Jeritron 5000, an "obscenely expensive" flatscreen TV that Y2J used to play videos. At some point the Jeritron 5000 was replaced by the Jeritron 6000, but the form and function was pretty much the same.

The Highlight Reel ran semi-regularly until Jericho left the company in 2005, and when he returned in 2007, the show - and the Jeritron - returned. Everything was under control until a very special episode in 2008 featuring guest Shawn Michaels.

At WrestleMania XXIV, Michaels defeated Ric Flair in a match that retired "The Nature Boy." When Flair's friend Dave Batista picked a fight with Michaels on the legend's behalf, HBK was again victorious - with some help from a fake knee injury. Jericho confronted Michaels about his lies, but HBK merely responded with some Sweet Chin Music.

That brought both men to The Highlight Reel, where an angry Jericho confronted a recalcitrant Michaels about his hypocrisy and the fans' fickleness. It was all a prelude to an attack, though, as Y2J eventually threw HBK face-first into the Jeritron 6000, shattering it and getting glass in Michaels's eye.

That was the last Highlight Reel for a while, and though the show did finally return in 2010, it was with a brand new Jeritron.
