In 1996, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. joined his Uncle Eddie in WCW. The promising young star may have wanted to be a good guy, but Eddie conscripted him as an ally in his quest to cheat his way to the top of WCW. Chavo eventually stood up to his uncle, but the subsequent feud between the two men drove the younger Guerrero crazy.

In his mania, Chavo found a new friend - a hobby horse which he named Pepe. Chavo and Pepe continued to feud with Eddie, eventually leading to a hair versus hair match between the men. Eddie won and Chavo was shaved bald, but Pepe stood by his side.

Eventually, Pepe got some action of his own, taking on Lenny Lane in a singles match.

The partnership came to an end when Chavo (and Pepe) starting feuding with Norman Smiley. Though Smiley would eventually become a beloved fan favourite, this was before that. The villainous Smiley upped the ante against Chavo by throwing Pepe in a wood chipper.

Needless to say, Chavo was distraught, but he soon bounced back and adopted a salesman gimmick.
