10 Best Dark Characters In WWE History

5. Sting

That eery figure looking down from the rafters was a slight you never got sick of. Although you couldn't help but think that Sting was ever so slightly troubled by the way his emotionless face never, ever changed. No matter what the situation was... The transformation Sting underwent from the perennial babyface to the Crow-inspired silent man was very dramatic, but a change that when the six-time world champion looks back on his career will be something that he will be glad he went through with. It's a shame that WWE have had to put their own spin on the character - calling him the Vigilante rather than leaving him the man of mystery that we all loved in WCW - as nostalgia is a big thing in the company at the moment and having The Stinger just appear with no fanfare at the back of the crowd would have been better for business than what they've done so far. Sting was the epitome of darkness for WCW, something that is epically displayed during a promo package put together ahead of his monumental WCW World Heavyweight Championship match against Hollywood Hulk Hogan at Starrcade 1997. The way the Stinger is depicted throughout this vignette sums his character up to a tee... The rain, the lighting, the noise and feel of the production is quite frankly Oscar-worthy.
