10 Best Exceptions To WWE Rules

9. Super-Strict Announcing

WWE's announcers take a lot of flak from fans on Twitter for their regularly-forced banter and inability to say words like "he", "she" or "they". Instead, McMahon prefers that his commentators always refer to talents by name every single time, and that can knacker their flow just a bit.

AEW's commentary isn't perfect by any means, but it is a lot more organic.

Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone have a great laugh setting one another up for lines, and Excalibur has blossomed into a fine announcer who reminds one of WCW's underrated Scott Hudson or maybe a modern-day Mike Tenay (in terms of analysis, not voice). Everything comes together naturally, and it's wonderful.

Even Chris Jericho has shown himself to be quite the colour man as of late. It's unlikely he would've been able to do that if Vince was screaming down the headset at him and reminding everyone to promote the WWE Network 267 times during the next match.
